Hello To All My Awesome Followers

Hello Girls,

Hope all is well and great to be writing again.

My apologies as have been attending classes and am currently learning a new language so took me a while to balance out everything but need not fear, here again with you all, hahahahaha. I do miss blogging and sharing my experiences with my awesome audience so hopefully we will be back on track and moving on forward from this point on.

I can’t believe nearly an entire year has gone by since my last post, of course, have tried different products and found some gold ones that will be sharing with you, have tied them out for 1 year and they have worked well so I am for sure sticking to, will be sharing with you of course and remember once you find products that work, stick with them, each of our hair is different so we all have different and unique hair needs.

Some of my girls are also transitioning and thinking had about it and will also be doing interviews with them so that will be most fun to share, those should be coming out in November so do stay tuned for that updates and more fun blogs coming your way.

Take care my dears and hope you enjoy our gorgeous girl pic, done in app InColor.

My Natural Hair Journey Update – October 2018

Hello My Dears,

How are you doing? Hope all is well with you. I am back with updates on my hair journey after about four months, hahahaha so this post is way overdue so take a seat, your fav tea or coffee and come see what am up to now, hahaha, as always, thank you for following my journey. You all have been with from when I started my Blog up to now, so, please know that is most appreciated on my behalf and a HUGE THANK YOU LOVES!!!!!!!!

Now on to updates:

My hair is coming along slowly but surely. One thing I have come to learned for sure is that consistency is key. Find what works, stick to it and go ’bout your business, at least in my case, that is what works for my tresses so sticking to that plan, as the saying goes, if it ain’t broke then don’t fix it, hahahaha. She loves 2 strand twists done counter-clockwise, I do twist outs maybe twice a year as she loves to be left alone so I let her be. 💗💗💗

These are my 4 Products that I use now, have narrowed them down and these all work well for my tresses:

  1. Cantu Shea Butter – Sulfate Free Cleansing Cream Shampoo – excellent, cleans scalp and hair, leaving that nice clean feeling that you want to get after washing your hair. A little bit goes a long way so I use about a cap-full, apply on scalp, wash and voila, Done! Plus the ingredients are not as harsh on tresses.
  2. Tresemme Conditioner – Smooth and Silky works nicely with my hair, use after I shampoo, because I usually apply the conditioner then detangle as I go, which works pretty well, as it provides the softness as I go through each section so this is one is a winner for sure and a definite keeper for my hair for good.
  3. Cantu Care for Kids – Leave-in Conditioner – a must for my tresses!!!! As I had said, I love this one because its exactly what my hair texture needs, moisture, softness, plus missing the harsh ingredients that can damage hair after using for a long period of time, which makes me a happy camper!😍😍😍
  4. Castor Oil USP 100% – For sure a life saver and the only oil am now using on my tresses, as this one works best for my tresses. Works on keeping scalp clean as and hair moisturized plus because it is so thick, it remains in for a longer time which is excellent. My one favorite oil now, need to get more.

So far, so good. Have learned that in my case, the less the better and my hair will strive. At night, I sleep on a satin pillow case so that helps retain moisture. When washing tresses, usually add about 3 drops of 100% Essential Mint Oil in the water, to wash and rinse with, which is nice because you can feel your scalp tingling and the mint is antibacterial, which adds in cleansing our scalp and hair, so win-win. I have also been rinsing with Rice Water once a month now,  do believe it is helping with maintaining my hair’s health, brown rice is my preference. Once a week, am continuing to drink a biotin pill, as that is all that is needed in my case, which is also helping in the long way. Of course, eating healthier and drinking lots of water helps all of us in the long run, which is why consistency really is the key to it all, so go for it!!!! Once you find what works, stick to it and succeed!

I will continue my regimen, wash day is once every other week and once styled, am good to go. Its working really well and can add accessories if I want a new look, or twist out for special occasions and of course, our scarves!!! As always my darlings, hope you enjoyed, comment to add any tips or ask any questions at all.

My Natural Hair Journey – June 2018 Update

Hello My Beautiful Ladies,

How are you all doing? Hope all is well and dandy with you and your families.

First of all,  wanted to start out with a Thank You to each and every one of you for continuing to be with me after so many years, you are truly appreciated and I’m grateful to have you with me, your comments and likes are so exciting to see, thank you all so very  much.

Second of all, please remember any questions, inquiries or anything of that nature, you can IG me, any natural hair questions, am a text away.

Third but not least, Let us get to these updates right, hahahaha, as promised, here is my 3 months Progress report on my tresses, Enjoy!!!

My Hair Care Regimen:

Simplicity is key and is needed for my tresses to thrive and continue to be healthy so I keep a very simple hair care regimen that works for me. So with that being said, I tend to leave my tresses alone, once styled in 2 Strand Twists, let them be until Wash Day, where they are taken out, styled back in different sections and done, with this style, as long as your tresses are well moisturized, this style lasts me 2  to 3 weeks.

Products Used:

TRESemme Conditioner, Cantu Care for Kids Leave-In Conditioner & Castor Oil , mix them all in one and applied as hair is styled in 2 strand twists.  When using the TRESemme Conditioners, use the ones with Moisture or Softness as these work best for me out here in the Tropics. The Cantu Leave-In is working marvels for my hair, needed a bit more moisture and she is just what I needed and Castor Oil is my best and fav oil now!!!

Rice Water Treatments are working extremely well for my tresses, I see more shine and sheen, healthier and much less breakage. I even took pictures so you can see just how much hair comes out, which is 1/4th of what I use to shed, so its working for my tresses, will continue to use for the rest of the year and observe progress more closely as time goes, the one that works best for me is the Parboiled Rice, does wonders.

As you know, my signature style are my 2 strand twists, they never let me down and I love them completely, once done, I don’t even have to worry about styling again. I simply refresh in the morning and once a week is gone, will wash her and apply cream or oil to my my hair and ends and she is perfectly fine. My 4C Hair loves to be left alone, so I listen and let her be, as they say, if it ain’t broke, then don’t fix it.

Wash Day:

Once a week I will co-wash my hair, then every 2 weeks will wash with a Shampoo to get the product build up out and maintain my scalp clean so she can breathe well. If I have the time, the day before Wash Day, will do an Overnight Oil Treatment, if not, then on Wash Day, I do my Rice Water, place on hair and scalp, leave for 15 to 20 minutes, rinse, apply my Hair Cream Mix and My Mum will style hair for me.

Daily Maintenance:

As I mentioned before, this one is pretty easy, peasy, I get up, get ready, fix a twist or 2 and am done!!! Hahahahaha. Occasionally I might do a twist out, left for very special occasions, or so a scarf set or add some accessories to my hair or a hair band and that is it. We tend to lead very busy lives so yes, we do take care of our hair but for me personally, I cannot spend hours on her daily, so simplicity is key for me.

New Products I am using:

Cantu Care for Kids Leave-In Conditioner,  I know, I know, it says for Kids!!!!! But this leave in works wonders for my hair, she keeps her moisturized up to 1 entire week and this in the Tropics!!!! She mixes extremely well with Castor Oil and My Conditioner. A little goes a long way, 1 10 oz jar can last me up to a month, and yes, fully stocked on her as well, our local Supermarket now sells Cantu Products so am extremely happy with that fact. Next one I want to try is the Cantu Shampoo, because my Bonawell Shampoo has finished so I need to look into purchasing one this weekend. I will check out the Cantu Aisle, see which one I like, research for a couple of days and choose one, haha!
