It has been a very topsy-turvy year in 2019 and now even more in 2020 so it’s my hope that this post can serve as a positive informative one. I am by no means any kind of expert, so of course, always do your research.

We will cover aspects, the first, is the importance of keeping as healthy as possible so healthy eating habits. The second will be excellent foods to help boost our immune systems. The third will be what you can expect coming this year as now have more time to blog so exciting new ideas and posts coming, so please stay tuned.

FIRST – Healthy Eating Habits

  1. Increase your daily water intake.
  2. Eat more vegetables that are locally grown.
  3. Eat fruit that is in season in the area where you live.
  4. Instead of fruit juices, swap out for your favorite teas.
  5. Try to make your own dips, sauces, or salad dressings.
  6. Bake or Roast your foods instead of frying or grilling.
  7. Try to do less salt and add more herbs or spices to your dishes.
  8. Limit daily intake of sugar or use alternative ones of your liking.
  9. Replace unhealthy snacks with your all-time favorite nuts or seeds.
  10. Enjoy preparing your meals and take time to sit down and eat your meals.
  11. When following recipes, replace ingredients with healthier options if available.
  12. If you can purchase fresh fish in your area then try to eat once a week if affordable.

THIRD – What will be on the plate for IslandKynks in 2020?

We will for sure be seeing more hair blog posts. This year will focus on more healthy fruits and veggies that can benefit us internally as well as a variety of herbs and oils used around the world used on our hair externally.  I am super happy and excited and if any fruits that are native to your region help in this, please be sure to let me know, and will do my research and feature. Will do it once a week on Thursdays.

New Interview Features are coming in, there are a few more to post this month. Beginning in the month of  May 2020 I will be conducting Interviews with those Thinking About Returning Natural, the pros and cons, Ones who are Transitioning and their biggest challengers, and Naturalistas both new and experienced, what were the best tips to help them to remain natural as the years go by. For sure an extremely fun and educational experience!!!

As you know, I have an Instagram account, IslandKynks, on which I will post every 3-day and pictures, as my goal is to have both IG & WordPress in sync from May onward so when even if you do not have the time to read the full post here, you can catch an edited version of the same post on IG. We now have our own email so if you need to contact me in regards to any hair questions, please do at: islandynks@yahoo.com.

I also wanted to thank each and every single one of you for continuing to follow me after all these years, I know am terrible at keeping things updated but refocused and rearranged matters so I can have the time to sit down and blog here about natural hair as it is and will always be my favorite hobbies and appreciate your continued support during all these years and may you continue to enjoy each post and please do share with your comments.

The times are very difficult ones so may we continue to be a source of comfort and kindness to all those around us and each other. With technology, it is so much easier to be in communication so be sure to keep in touch with all your loved ones and friends. Do your best to keep informed and updated as much as possible and stay as healthy as you can. Take care my IslandKynkers and appreciate you all very much and wish us all the very best!!!!!!!!
