Our following guest is Gorgeous Britney,
!Amazing YouTuber and beautiful young lady!
Here is her Natural Hair Story, do enjoy Divas,
1) Please introduce your amazing self.
A: My Name is Britney Jackson “AKA” ExoticAfro. I’m a 24 year old new Natural Hair blogger on YouTube and look forward to sharing all my experience with everyone.
2) Did you Transition, Big Chop, Both or Natural from Birth?
A: I transitioned for 6 months then did the big chop on March 31, 2014. My goal was to transition for 1 year but I was ready to see and feel my natural hair. I had no clue I was going to do the big chop till I woke up that day. Lol…
3) How long have you been natural?
A: I’m now 1 year and 5 months natural. It has been a great journey so far and look forward to 6 years behind me as being a natural.
4) What made you return natural?
A: The reason for me returning back to natural had a lot to do with me dealing with burns on my scalp after relaxing my hair. I also was inspired by many naturals and wanted to see what it would be like to feel and be free from using all those chemicals in my hair. If you asked me, it was the best decision I ever made.
5) How hard or easy was your first year of being natural?
A: My first year went great. I loved every moment of learning new things about my hair and also about who I am as different person with my natural hair. I learned what products works for me and what doesn’t. The first year is always the learning time when it comes to starting your journey. So be prepared for the good, bad and the ugly. But in the end it’s all worth it.
6) What helped you the most, to remain natural?
A: The thought of not having to deal with burns on my scalp any more is the number one thing that helped me remain natural. I wasn’t fond of it at that time in my life and I’m still not. I also had a lot of help from natural hair groups, Youtubers, photos and Natural hair bloggers.
7) Your 3 favorite products and why?
A: My 3 favorite products would have to be “Care Free Curl Gold Activator”, African Braid Spray and Kinky Curly Knot Today. All 3 of these products do the same thing to my natural hair. They all are good for moisturizing your hair, leaves a very smooth and soft feeling after applying, great detangler and easy to use.
8) What do you love about your unique tresses?
A: I love that my hair can do anything I want it to without the use of a relaxer or heat. I am free to do any type of styles I want on my natural hair. I love how thick and curly my texture is and my hair is very easy to manage.
9) What is your least favorite task when dealing with your natural hair?
A: My least task would have to be finding products that works for my hair. Sometimes I try new things either because my hair has changed or I just want to try something different. I get upset when my hair rejects a product that I spent a lot money on, but that’s life and somethings are not going to always work.
10) How do you inspire other girls to return natural?
A: I feel like I inspire girls to go natural just by sharing my pictures or walking down the street with my Afro out. I inspire most people just by being me and showing my natural hair all day every day. I love to share and give tips on natural hair which is why I decided to start a YouTube channel. That way I can inspire and help on a worldwide scale.
11) So far in your journey, what is your favorite hair style?
A: My favorite hair style was at first my Wash N’ Go, but because my hair is getting longer, I love to rock my twist out more than any style in the world. My twist outs are getting better and better every day and twist outs always makes me feel confident.
I love summertime more than anything else in the world. That is the only thing that gets me through the winter, knowing that summer is going to be there.
